A Beginners Guide to Button Pull Tester

Button Pull Tester – In this Article I shall be covering the Safety Testing Equipment for snaps, buttons and other garment attachments.

To determine the attachment strength of buttons, snaps, rivets etc is a very important criterion especially in the design and manufacture of garments for infants and Children wear. The measurement of a uniform force applied to the snap attachment shall be recorded by means of a force measuring device. Once the appropriate force is registered on the Imada gauge, a stop clock is used for recording a set period of time.

The equipment consists of an upper snap clamp, a lower Fabric clamp & force gauge mounted on a sturdy stand. The snap component is gripped by the upper clamp and the garment is fixed to the lower fabric clamp. By turning the Top Flywheel, the operator can apply a specific force and the holding force or the breaking strength can be recorded.

Paramount’s Button Pull Tester is one of the most important Safety Testing equipment as the infants and Children are quite prone to broken buttons and snaps.  A MUST for every Exporter and Manufacturer of Baby and Kids wear!!

The Button/Snap must adhere to International Standards like ASTM S 963, 16 CFR 1500, BS 4162,H & M and GAP
